    Lakeway Painters Annual Exhibit and Sale

    Began in 2002, the Lakeway Painters will honor musical legend Willie Nelson with their annual exhibit and sale on Sunday November 24th from 11am to 3pm at the Hills of Lakeway Country Club located in the Village of The Hills. The show is free to the public. More than 25 local artists will showcase a variety of works including watercolor, mixed media, acrylic and pastel. In addition to the beautiful art from the group’s members, this year many will also display artwork featuring their own unique vision of Austin’s Willie Nelson. The Lakeway Painters gather at 9am weekly on Wednesdays at the Lakeway Activity Center.

    When: January 9, 2019 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm Where: Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek, Lakeway, TX 78734 Many years ago, after an inspiring watercolor class by Johnnie Fields, a well-known Lakeway artist, a group of his students enthusiastically established The Lakeway Painters which continues to grow and thrive today. Each Wednesday, The Lakeway Painters’ club gets together to paint in a supportive environment and have a friendly critique of their members’ art. They also have an annual art sale each fall.     Worldly Watercolors Art Reception and Exhibit

    Ben Kuenemann Art Reception – Sunday, December 8th from 2pm to 3:30pm The library will exhibit the travel inspired watercolor paintings of local artist Ben Kuenemann during the month of December. Kuenemann picked up oil painting after his retirement in 1996, when his wife Sylvia encouraged him to take classes. He switched to watercolor in 2001 and has made painting a regular part of his life. Kuenemann has generously offered to auction off the painting The Gapstow Bridge in Central Park NYC with the proceeds going to the library.     Lynn Zwern Art at LT Community Library

    Join us this month at the LT Community Library to enjoy the colorful watercolor artwork of contemporary abstract painter Lynn Zwern. A member of Lakeway Painters, Zwern is known for her strong sense of color and design, which she incorporates into vibrant pieces using watercolors on Yupo paper. Her style is loose, creative, and eye-catching. All are welcome to attend Zwern’s reception on Sunday, September 22nd from 1:30pm to 3pm.
