Austin Brassworks Ready to Shine in Lakeway
Join us as the City of Lakeway’s Arts in the Afternoon program showcases the Austin Brassworks performing “Showstoppers” on Sunday Aug 6th at 4pm at the Lakeway Activity Center. This free and family friendly concert is for all brass band lovers! The Austin Brassworks formed in 2018 to explore original works for brass quintet, including those by the Nineteenth Century composer, Victor Ewald, and more contemporary composers of quintet literature, such as John Cheetham and Michael. Over time, the group’s repertoire has broadened to include high-quality transcriptions of music in a wide range of styles that were originally voiced for other instruments. Join us for a jazzy celebration of all the talented local photographers who entered the 21st Annual Lakeway Photo Festival this year! There were 164 beautiful photographs entered from 54 talented local Lakeway photographers. On Sunday June 11th at 4pm, Lakeway photographers, friends, and families are invited to attend the 21st Lakeway Photo Festival Awards Reception where the winners and honorable mentions will be announced. All are welcome to enjoy an arts filled afternoon admiring the outstanding winning photos while listening to live jazz and enjoying cookies and refreshments. Awards reception will be held at the Lakeway Activity Center (105 Cross Creek). See you there!

Musicians Honor a Local Jazz Legend
Enjoy an evening presented by Spicewood Arts with two of Jazz music’s finest artists at a performance held each year in honor of Tony Campise, one of Austin’s great jazz musicians. This year at 7pm on May 5th at Spicewood Vineyards, the Austin-born Carmen Bradford (2022 Grammy nominee and recipient of the Los Angeles Jazz Society’s Jazz Vocalist Award) and John Mills (composer/arranger and recording saxophonist across a wide spectrum of jazz and other musical genres) will entertain everyone with their classic jazz tribute to Tony.
