ART WALK WEATHER UPDATE: Due to potential rainy weather conditions, we regret to inform everyone that the Friday night concert under the stars featuring the Christian Wiggs Sextet and the outdoor Saturday Art Walk at the Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden and Hamilton Greenbelt have been cancelled. However, the weekend doesn’t end there! The Studio Tours and off-site exhibitions will still be happening as planned on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm, offering you a chance to explore the creativity of local artists in their studios. Additionally, on Sunday at the Lakeway Activity Center, you can enjoy a free TexARTS Emerging Professionals and Young Student performance at 2pm, plus the Christian Wiggs Sextet will conclude the weekend festivities with a live music concert on Sunday at 6pm. We look forward to seeing you there! REVISED ART WALK SCHEDULE: FRIDAY, APRIL 19 – KICKOFF PARTY at 5pm Immerse yourself in a vibrant celebration of the arts in Lakeway! This special three-day event kicks off on Friday 4/19 at 5pm with refreshments and light bites at a festive artist meet-and-greet hosted by the Adams Galleries. SATURDAY, APRIL 20 & SUNDAY, APRIL 21 – STUDIO TOURS from 10am-4pm Discover local creative gems as you explore the vibrant Studio Tour (see interactive map) featuring 20 open artist studios and off-site exhibitions both Saturday and Sunday. Also on Saturday, the Lakeway Heritage Center is showcasing an Art of Quilting exhibit from 1pm-4pm along with sharing Lakeway’s fascinating history. The Lake Travis Community Library is hosting a special student art exhibit as part of the Studio Tour as well. Talented young artists from Lake Travis High School will be showcasing their creations inspired by the unique spirit of Lakeway. Join the student reception from 2pm to 4pm to meet the artists, celebrate their creativity, and discover a fresh perspective on your own community. SUNDAY, APRIL 21 – TEXARTS PERFORMANCE at 2pm and CHRISTIAN WIGGS SEXTET at 6pm On Sunday, wrap up your art-filled adventure by visiting additional open studios and treat yourself to two captivating performances! Enjoy a special free TexARTS Emerging Professionals and Young Students performance at 2pm at the Lakeway Activity Center. Adams Galleries is pleased to support the City of Lakeway and the Lakeway Arts Committee in their first-ever Art Walk. Join us at the gallery on Friday, April 19th, as we kick off the weekend’s festivities: an artist meet-and-greet, wine, and light bites from 5 to 7pm. This event is open to the public and free of charge. Art of Quilting Exhibit @ Lakeway Heritage Center
The Lakeway Heritage Center will be open on Saturday, April 20th, from 1pm to 4pm to showcase their exhibit on the Art of Quilting.  Members of the Heritage Committee will be sharing the history and process of quilting in addition to the history of Lakeway. About the Art of Quilting Quilting, often thought of as a cozy craft, boasts a rich history that stretches far beyond bedspreads. For centuries, skilled artisans have been transforming fabric scraps into stunning works of art and treasured heirlooms. Early quilts served a practical purpose, providing warmth and insulation. Over time, intricate patterns and designs emerged, showcasing the artistic talents of the quilters. These quilts reflected not only the maker’s skill but also the cultural influences and stories of their communities.

Lake Travis High School students showcase their artistic vision of Lakeway’s cultural treasures in this month’s exhibit. The Lake Travis Student Art Exhibition: “Voices of Lakeway” showcases the creativity and artistic skill of student artists. The exhibition is a selection of works produced by student artists during the 2023-2024 school year. Throughout the school year, some of these students have been asked to create work responding to a prompt of self reflection, some created their works with the purpose of participating in a scholastic art competition, and others created works outside of their school classrooms.  Experience Lakeway through the students’ eyes at their exhibition throughout April. Meet the student artists at the reception on Saturday, April 20th, 2-4 pm at the Lake Travis Community Library.
