Art Intersects Science in April
Visit the Lake Travis Community Library this April to view the photography exhibit of local artist Mary Seewoster. Seewoster grew up in Missouri and worked at the University of Missouri’s Department of History and Research Reactor. After receiving a camera from a co-worker, she learned the basics of 35mm film photography and began volunteering to take photos of instruments, experiments, and student research projects. She applied for and won an award to attend workshops sponsored by the Professional Photographers of America.
In 2000, Seewoster became a mid-life career changer and earned a Bachelor of Science in Photography. In 2008, after the loss of her Missouri relatives, she left for Texas. She was briefly a part of the 23rd Street Artists Market in Austin. The challenge of applying to juried art fairs followed and her first invitation came from the Fourth Avenue Street Fair in Tucson. Seewoster is now retired and enjoys life and photography in the Texas Hill Country. All are invited to view her exhibit in the library’s meeting room.
