Martin Luther King Jr. Day (officially Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr., and sometimes referred to as MLK Day) is an American federal holiday marking the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. King was the chief spokesperson for nonviolent activism in the Civil Rights Movement, which successfully protested racial discrimination in federal and state law. The campaign for a federal holiday in King’s honor began soon after his assassination in 1968. President Ronald Reagan signed the holiday into law in 1983, and it was first observed three years later. Celebrate this great day of remembrance by serving others.

LTCL Sound Bath Meditation
Jan 23 @ 10:30 am – 11:30 am
Join us for a relaxing Sound Bath meditative experience in which musical instruments like singing bowls are used to relax, realign and re-energize the body and mind. Participants gather around these musical instruments while the instructor guides her students into a deep, calming state. The term “bath” is used because participants are bathing in the sound as well as the vibrations the sound waves put off. These vibrations are incredibly calming as well, with the goal being to help stimulate your body into restoration as well as clearing out any negative emotions or energies that serve you no purpose. Please bring a mat and any other items you might need to feel comfortable such as a pillow, blanket, or eye mask.

As the primary fundraising performance group for the LTHS Orchestras, they play around the Texas hill country at public events such as festivals and grand openings.
