Lake Travis Film Festival Sparkles with Cinematic Delight!
The Lake Travis Film Festival ignites cinematic fireworks with music and films this year! Enjoy pop-up tastings, award brunch, film screenings, live table reads, panels, parties, and more in Bee Cave and Lakeway, Texas and meet filmmakers, screenwriters, and industry professionals. The festival will be in Lakeway on Thursday, September 15 and Friday September 16, and in Bee Cave on Saturday and Sunday, September 17 and 18.
On Saturday, September 17, the third day of the Third Annual Lake Travis Film Festival, feel free to tap your feet and swing to the beat as the Festival showcases music in a multi-sensory delight!
You will not want to miss the Documentary Feature The Birth & History of Western Swing, a landmark film that traces Western Swing’s origins, development and legacy. Showing at 5:00 PM at the unique Goga Yoga venue in the Hill Country Galleria, 12700 Hill Country Boulevard S-115, you will hear original and contemporary voices tell quintessential story of America’s most joyous dance music. Moderation will be by Jennifer Tully and the filmmaker and some of the film’s featured musicians will be in attendance.
We’ll keep it going at Goga Yoga with an engaging Song & Dance Routine (Music Shorts Block) at 6:45 PM, which includes: Cookaphony by Joe Chvala; A Feast That Never Comes by Maria Juranic; Between Two Worlds by Jax; Composure by Eric DePriester; and NEON by Ehson Rad.
Then we’ll wrap up the screening day at Goga Yoga with a Music Video Showcase starting at 8:00 PM: Kady Rain – Got Away by Jackie Pardue Scripps; Reverie by Caitlin Gray; AZXO – Idle Mind by Joey Martinez and Zhipeng Xing; “Baker Hotel” by Billy Cano; Brandon Callies Band “Gone Cold” by Brandon Norman Callies and Paco Estrada; Shining Light by Taylor Fredricks; Small One by Micah Nelson and Alexandra Dascalu; Super Penguin by Matthew Gilchrest; and Smoky Cold Pint Glass by Taylor Fredricks. This showcase will be moderated by Jennifer Bourgoyne.
Want to join the party? Swing to live music with “Floyd Domino and his Western Swing All Stars from 7:00 – 9:15 at the Hill Country Galleria Central Plaza. Floyd has won two Grammy awards, and is widely recognized for his years with Asleep at the Wheel and the revival of Western Swing. This does not require an LTFF badge.
