Shara Nickell

Shara is a trained photojournalist, published numerous times and exhibited in fine art photography both domestically and internationally. She studied platinum palladium and interned under photo archivist Nicolette Bromberg. She has worked at two junior colleges and one university, and photographed professional sports, and feature films. She served as an appraiser and digital cataloger of the Magnum collection at the Harry Ransom Center UTA, working under Penelope Dixon and Associates on a photographic collection donated by Michael Dell and other investors, of over 200,000 photographs from 1920s to 2008. Shara is currently working on several projects to include book publication and ongoing exhibitions and collections. "Naturally my style leans toward documentary and photojournalism, wherever I can, using light as my paintbrush along with shadow, subject, and form to create emotion, a narrative, or to tell a story. I am influenced my many of the greats that have come before me in photojournalism documentary and fine art photography.
