While the Art Walk, originally planned for May 16th through 18th, will now grace us with its presence in the fall due to a flurry of other exciting arts events in the area, fear not! Your weekend can still be filled with a vibrant celebration of local creativity, music, and history during Celebrate Lakeway Arts & History!
Join the Lakeway Arts Committee, the Lakeway Heritage Committee, and the City of Lakeway for a fantastic lineup of free events:
Friday, May 16th will set the stage with a captivating live performance at TexARTS (1110 RR 620 S) from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. Get a sneak peek at excerpts from Mean Girls, Alice in Wonderland, and their thrilling 2025-2026 season, featuring talented professionals working with our community.
Saturday, May 17th offers a double dose of culture at City Hall (1102 Lohmans Crossing). From 10 am to 2 pm, immerse yourself in the impressive Lake Travis High School (LTHS) Student Art Exhibit at the City Hall Art Gallery. Later, from 12 pm to 4 pm, step back in time with fascinating Liebelt Cabin Tour, offered by our Heritage Committee right outside City Hall. Uncover the rich history of Lakeway! The LTHS artists will also be celebrated with an Artist Reception from 2 pm to 4 pm. Don’t forget to cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award. The student art exhibit will be open for viewing throughout May, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm.
Finally, on Sunday, May 18th, prepare for an afternoon of exquisite music at the Masterpiece Concert No. 9 at the Lakeway Activity Center (105 Cross Creek) at 4 pm. Doors open at 3:30 pm, and a delightful post-performance reception will follow from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The program features the beautiful sounds of Samuel Barber’s Cello Sonata, Op. 6, Johannes Brahms’ Piano Quartet No. 3 in C Minor, and Edward Elgar’s Salude d’Amour, with a solo by the talented Sari Pearce. Performances by Sari Pearce (Violin), Andrew Pearce (Cello), Bruce Williams (Viola, Principal Austin Symphony), and Rick Rowley (Piano, University of Texas) promise an unforgettable musical experience.
While we eagerly anticipate the Art Walk in the fall, this weekend is brimming with opportunities to celebrate the vibrant arts, music, and history that make Lakeway so special. Come out and enjoy!
