Ben Kuenemann
Kuenemann was born in El Paso and grew up in the Houston area and picked up oil painting after his retirement in 1996, when his wife encouraged him to take classes at the local high school. He switched to watercolor in 2001 and has made painting a regular part of his life since 2006. Since he began painting watercolors, he has donated approximately 20 % of his work to family and worthy charities. He has painted 588 pieces, sold 461 paintings, donated 42 and given 41 to family and friends.
The Kuenemanns often enjoy attending artists’ retreats across the country and abroad. The majority of his artwork depicts recognizable scenes from his travels including images of London’s Big Ben, the canals of Venice, and a bridge over the Seine River in Paris.
