Aviation Artwork Takes Flight at Lakeway City Hall

Soar into the captivating world of aviation-inspired art as the Lakeway City Hall Art Gallery proudly presents the works of local artist Gordon Philipson, a master of photorealistic depictions that will transport you to the realm of soaring skies and mechanical marvels. Join us for an artist reception at City Hall on November 20th from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet the artist himself and indulge in light refreshments while immersing yourself in the awe-inspiring world of aviation art. The exhibit will run through the end of December, providing ample time to explore the captivating creations of Gordon Philipson.

About Gordon Philipson

Gordon Philipson was born in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1939 and obtained a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Queens University in Canada in 1964, and an MS and PhD in Engineering from Case Institute of Technology in 1968. He then joined Shell Oil Company. In 1994, he joined IBM in Paris, retiring in 1998. He has been married to his wife since 1966. They have two sons and four grandchildren and live in Lakeway, Texas.  His formal studies in art began in 1998, at the Glassell School of Art, of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
