Lights On!
Dec 6 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Happy Holidays from the City of Lakeway! The Lights On! event marks the beginning of the holiday season in Lakeway with the first lighting of the Trail of Lights behind City Hall. We invite you to join us in the parking lot at City Hall (at the corner of Sailmaster and Lohman’s). Have fun decorating cookies and roasting a marshmallow at the fire pit! Compete with your friends and family playing “Reindeer Games”. We will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items to benefit Lake Travis Crisis Ministries. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be nearby to ‘plug in’ the Trail of Lights display and to speak to all of the good little boys and girls of Lakeway. Enjoy Christmas tunes sung by a live band. Bicycles, scooters, skateboards and motorized vehicles are not permitted on the trail. No pets, please. Parking is available at the Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek. The Trail of Lights may be accessed by the stairway at the bottom of the parking lot. Those with strollers should use caution traversing the stairway. Parking is also available at Village Square Shopping Center, 100 Lakeway Drive (near Café Lago). Take the walkway between the buildings for direct access to the Lights On event at City Hall. Access the Trail of Lights by following the sidewalk around the building to the right. Wheelchair access is available at City Hall entrance off of Lohman’s Crossing. For more information, please call 512-314-7532.

Arts in the Afternoon: Metamorphosis Dance “Nutcracker”
Dec 15 @ 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
As the holiday season fills the air with a touch of magic, experience the unforgettable ballet performance of excerpts from The Nutcracker ballet. Join us at the Lakeway Activity Center, where the talented dancers of the Metamorphosis Dance company will bring this beloved holiday tale to life. Metamorphosis Dance’s unique telling of the classic ballet, The Nutcracker, portrays young Clara as an aspiring young ballerina wanting to follow in her favorite aunt Vivian’s footsteps and travel the world as a dancer. She has the support and encouragement of her mom and sister, Marie, however, her father vehemently disagrees. Going against his wishes, Clara and Marie embark on a worldwide tour engaging with the many cultures and enjoying the people they meet along the way. Hosted by the City of Lakeway Arts Committee, this performance will transport you to a magical world through the dancers’ artistry and the enchanting notes of Tchaikovsky’s score. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the timeless beauty of The Nutcracker in Lakeway. This is a free and family-friendly event so aspiring ballerinas of any age are welcome.
