Join us at the Lake Travis Library in Lakeway for an art reception celebrating this month’s artist. January – Lynn Zwern. Lynn is best known for incorporating her strong sense of color, texture, and design into her dramatic impressionistic landscapes. She is an art teacher with a background in art therapy and likes to teach her students to paint what they feel in their hearts.  February – Villa Shurielle. Villa is a children’s author, publisher, fashion enthusiast, and arts advocate. Rooted in contemplation, her pieces provoke a range of emotions that demand thoughtful reflection and respect for the complexities they unveil. March – Women in Photography. Celebrate Women’s History Month with these amazing local female photographers. Curated by Women in Visual Art (WIVA). View the exhibition online. April – Barbara Pence. Barbara is an award-winning artist who came to painting after a career as a bank executive in the Midwest. Initially, she was self-taught but later studied formally for three years at the Jeff Hein Art Academy in Salt Lake City. She has won many awards for her work and has been a featured artist in the International Artist magazine. Barbara’s oil paintings have a story to tell and often include a touch of humor.

Join Contracommon artists once a month for a casual night of creativity and camaraderie. Bring a current project (or just a pen and paper for some doodling). No expectations, judgements or prerequisites! Just bring yourself and your favorite materials to start off your weekend with some art. Drink & Draw will meet at 6pm on one Friday of each month.
