Lake Travis Film Festival Focuses on Opening Night
Lubbock native Kat Albert didn’t set out to be a filmmaker and certainly not the founder of this weekend’s inaugural Lake Travis Film Festival. Years ago, the former advertising agency owner said she was at a crossroads on what to do next after selling her company. Spending the following year writing seven screenplays, Albert realized none of them would be turned into a production unless she learned how to make films. March is Youth Art Month

The greater Lakeway community is invited to the 2020 Youth Art Month Exhibition at the Lake Travis Community Library on display from March 2 through March 29, 2020. If you are searching for a fun and easy way to view the local outdoor artwork in Lakeway, look no further than our Lakeway Arts District Art Map! Consider taking a stroll or bike ride to visit Lakeway’s wonderful outdoor art museum. It includes some of our favorite art pieces, like Jim LaPaso’s “Butterfly”, “Daisy”, and “Wings” kinetic sculptures in Lakeway Butterfly Park, as well as the small but mighty dragon bronze in Dragon Park and the two adorable tortoises at the Lakeway Activity Center. Get Crafty at the Lake Travis Community Library
Each month the Lake Travis Community Library generously hosts a number of creative adult and kids crafting classes for their patrons. Adult Crafts are the third Monday of each month from 1 to 2pm while the Kids Come and Go Crafts take place the first or second Saturday each month from 1 to 3pm, depending on holidays etc. Check our monthly calendar for more details. Cancelled: Cool Arts Show
UPDATE June 19, 2020: For health and safety reasons, the City of Lakeway has recommended the Cool Arts Show is CANCELLED this summer. Stay tuned for more details about rescheduling. Mark your calendars for the 2020 Cool Arts Show and Art Sale on Saturday August 22 from 1-5pm at the Lakeway Activity Center. For artists, new this year, proof of a Texas Sales Tax Permit will be required to sell anything at the event, in addition to the fee for the sales booth. Final details and information coming soon.
