Arts in the Afternoon 2026: Music, Dance and More
Throughout the year, the City of Lakeway Arts committee presents “Arts in the Afternoon” a series of arts events from various talented and local performers. Performances include local musicians, bands, classical chamber music, dance and more. Most performances are held at the Lakeway Activity Center located at 105 Cross Creek, Lakeway, TX (unless otherwise noted). All performances are free and open to the public. Arts in the Afternoon with Great Hills Brass Band
The Great Hills Brass Band is coming to town! As part of our Arts in the Afternoon series, this talented group will perform on Saturday, September 13 at 4 p.m. at the Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden. The Great Hills Brass Band, a dedicated ensemble from Great Hills Baptist Church in northwest Austin, plays a diverse range of music. Their repertoire includes everything from gospel and spirituals to patriotic and popular tunes. They’ve performed at many community venues, including the Texas State Capitol and local retirement centers, and their music is a staple at seasonal events like Christmas, Easter, and Memorial Day. Rock Out at the Texas Youth Music Festival!
The Texas Youth Music Festival is inviting talented middle and high school garage bands and solo performers to compete in its annual music competition. This vibrant event will take place from October 11th to 13th, 2024, at the Hill Country Galleria Plaza in Austin, Texas. Sponsored by the Austin School for the Performing and Visual Arts, the Bee Cave Arts Foundation, and the Musicians Woodshed, the festival provides a platform for young musicians to showcase their skills and gain valuable exposure. Local Artists and Live Music at the Cool Arts Show & Studio Tour
The Lakeway Arts Committee is hosting its annual Cool Arts Show & Studio Tour on Saturday, August 24th from 1pm to 5pm at the Lakeway Activity Center (105 Cross Creek). Enjoy live music by Bethany Becker while browsing beautiful artwork from many local artists.
