Congratulations to the 2024 Lakeway Photo Festival Winners!
The City of Lakeway Arts Committee is proud to announce the winning photos for the 2024 Lakeway Photo Festival! There were 180 beautiful digital photographs entered from 60 talented local photographers – the highest numbers ever! The 12 categories this year were Abstract, Architecture, Birds, Community, Deer, Drone/Aerial, Greenscapes, Macro/Close-up, Pets, Skyscapes, Waterscapes and Wildlife. Thank you to everyone who attended the awards reception and special thanks to our expert Judging Panel: Angela Doran, Jim Philpott, and Adel Vardell. See more details about our judges below. Enter the 2024 Lakeway Photo Festival
Celebrating its 22nd year, the 2024 Lakeway Photo Festival showcases both the unique beauty of our area and the amazing talents of local photographers. Photo categories this year include Abstract/Artistic, Architecture, Birds, Community, Drone/Aerial, Greenscapes, Macro/Closeup, Pets, Skyscapes, Waterscapes and Wildlife. Photos in each category will be judged on creativity, photographic quality, and effectiveness in conveying the beauty and unique character of Lakeway. Lakeway Art Walk Shines through the Clouds and Rain
The rain may have dampened some plans, but it couldn’t dampen the artistic spirit at the inaugural Lakeway Art Walk last weekend. While the outdoor exhibits and gatherings at the Hamilton Greenbelt and Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden couldn’t take place, there were many delightful indoor alternatives: a self-guided Studio Tour, LTHS student art exhibit, historical quilt retrospective, TexARTS theater showcase, and live music performance by the Christian Wiggs Sextet. Over Saturday and Sunday, art enthusiasts roamed across Lakeway, exploring the studios of local artists from 10am to 4pm. Go Behind the Scenes on the Lakeway Art Walk Studio Tour
Calling all art enthusiasts! The Lakeway Art Walk is happening this weekend, April 19th through 21st, and it’s your chance to delve deeper into the local art scene. Due to potential inclement weather, the outdoor exhibits and events at the Hamilton Greenbelt and Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden are cancelled, however there will still be self-guided Studio Tours (see interactive map below) on both Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 4pm, rain or shine. ART WALK WEATHER UPDATE: Due to potential rainy weather conditions, we regret to inform everyone that the Friday night concert under the stars featuring the Christian Wiggs Sextet and the outdoor Saturday Art Walk at the Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden and Hamilton Greenbelt have been cancelled. However, the weekend doesn’t end there!
