Art in the Afternoon and Classical Piano Mastery with Kiyoshi Tamagawa
Experience an extraordinary afternoon of music as we welcome back a favorite performer to our community! The Lakeway Arts Committee is proud to present acclaimed pianist Dr. Kiyoshi Tamagawa for a special performance that promises to be as enlightening as it is beautiful.
- When: Sunday, July 12, 2026
- Time: 4:00 PM
- Where: Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek, Lakeway TX
The first half of the program features five beautiful solo pieces. The catch? Some are by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, some are only partially written by him, and others might be clever counterfeits. At the conclusion of the solos, you become the judge! The audience will be invited to vote on which pieces are authentic and which are not, followed by a brief, fascinating history of each work to reveal the truth. See if you can decode the mystery behind:
- Valse (Arietta) in F major
- Romanze in A-flat major
- Allegro in G minor
- Fantasy in D minor
- Gigue in G major
To close the afternoon, there will be no doubt about the master behind the music. You will hear one of Mozart’s brilliant Vienna-era masterpieces, the Concerto in D major, K. 451, performed in a special chamber ensemble arrangement by Kiyoshi Tamagawa himself.
Dr. Tamagawa will be assisted by a stellar lineup of guest musicians:
- Nicholas Goodwin, flute
- Sean Riley, violin
- Chi-Hui Kao, cello
Don’t miss this opportunity to witness a master at work right here in Lakeway!
