Alcohol Ink Art Class: Floral Abstracts @ Bee Cave Arts Foundation

In this adult art class you will create vibrant flowing flowers using alcohol ink pigments! The freeform nature of these inks lends to such beautiful images that are easily (and usually) abstracted. This class will take that flowing attribute and create big, beautiful flowers ready to frame.

Alcohol ink is an archival ink medium that can be enjoyed by all levels from those with no art experience to the master artist. Alcohol Ink is a permanent ink that reacts with rubbing alcohol similar to the way watercolor pigment does with water. It is intended for non-porous surfaces such as slick Yupo watercolor paper, ceramic tile, metals, and glass. It dries very quickly due to the nature of the alcohol base evaporating leaving behind a fluid brilliant color.

Instructor: Mary T. Barton. Mary has been working with abstract painting and hand-built pottery for over 20 years.

“Art has always been my therapy. Whether working through difficulties or celebrating accomplishments… it balances in my life.”
