Lakeway resident Gail Threinen, as part of our “Women In Art” exhibit, demonstrates Chinese Brush Painting of the Peony, the favorite flower of the only woman Emperor of China, Wu Zetian.
Be sure not to miss the beginning of Gail’s demonstration because she will share a fascinating story about something that Emperor Wu did to prove she had the mandate of heaven allowing her to rule the country.

About the artist, Gail Threinen.
Gail lived in Singapore and China where she fell in love with this type of art. She is a member of the Sumi-e Society of America and the International Chinese Calligraphy and Ink Painting Society. She has exhibited and won awards both nationally and internationally.
