Join us at the Lake Travis Community Library for an art reception welcoming local artist Diane Whooley. Born and raised in Ireland, Whooley has lived and worked all over the world and her artwork is inspired by her travels and life experiences. Diane will exhibit her paintings in the library’s meeting room for the month of June.
Whooley is a member of Lakeway Painters, Lake Travis Artists and the Creative Arts Society. She was born and raised in Ireland and has lived and worked all over the world. Whooley moved to the United States in 2006 and in 2016, she settled in Lakeway.
Whooley started out painting in watercolors and then moved onto acrylics and oils. She now primarily paints in acrylics, preferring to use only three to four colors and create her own palette from there. She enjoys switching from abstracts to portraits to landscapes using either a palette knife, large brushes or just her hands. Whooley draws inspiration for her artwork from the places she visits, her life experiences and the people she meets.
