National Night Out
POLICE DEPARTMENT OPEN HOUSE:
There will be an Open House at the Lakeway Police Department that evening from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. The event will give the public a chance to meet different police department divisions, receive crime prevention material and take a tour of the facility. The tour will allow individuals the chance to check out the shooting simulator and take a test with the drunk goggles. There will also be a variety of handouts for children, including stickers, coloring books and wristbands. Whether you have a neighborhood gathering to attend that evening, or don’t have one, stop by the Lakeway Police Department that afternoon to see the police facility and visit with different officers.
NEIGHBORHOOD GATHERINGS
National Night Out (NNO) is an annual event designed to strengthen our community by encouraging citizen engagement with their neighbors and with the police. NNO heightens crime-prevention awareness, builds support and participation in local anti-crime programs, and most importantly, sends a message that our neighborhoods are organized and taking a stand against crime. It’s also the perfect opportunity to get to know your neighbors and enjoy an evening among friends. NNO has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight to keep our city safe. Each year, our officers, police staff and city leaders visit dozens of neighborhood parties throughout the community. We always enjoy meeting our residents, sharing important safety advice, and trying some of the great food and treats! Thank you for everyone who chooses to participate in this important event
