Where We Grow: A Visual Journey of Life’s Transitions
The Lakeway Arts Committee presents Where We Grow, a new photography exhibition by Lakeway Photography Club member and local resident Debbi Varela, now on display at the Lakeway City Hall Art Gallery. This collection serves as a visual narrative of transition, beginning with quiet, expansive landscapes that offer a sense of grounding and perspective. As the exhibition unfolds, the stillness of the earth begins to blend with human momentum, eventually giving way to high-energy images of athletes in action. It is a journey that celebrates resilience, teamwork, and the beauty found in every season of life.
We invite the community to join us for an opening reception on Monday, May 18th, at 5:30 PM at Lakeway City Hall Art Gallery. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the photographer, enjoy light refreshments, and experience a collection that explores the many ways we grow as individuals and as a community.
Debbi Varela is a Texas-based photographer recognized for her vivid storytelling and technical precision. With a background in design and business, she brings a unique creative vision to her work, whether she is capturing the atmospheric night skies over Big Bend or the authentic emotion found on the sidelines of a local game. Her photographs are anchored by a deep curiosity about the natural world and a belief that every image should feel as real as the memories they hold.
We look forward to seeing you at City Hall to celebrate this evocative look at the horizons that shape us and the fields we run across.
