Bee Cave Buzzes with a Call for Local Artists
Call for Artists! The Bee Cave Arts Foundation announces The Bees of Bee Cave, a public art exhibition featuring 10 Bee Sculptures designed by local artists to reflect the creative freedom of the artist and visually engage the community and visitors at the Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave Texas. The Bees will be on display for 6 months, then enter into an auction to be moved to their permanent homes. Submission deadline is August 15, 2020. Good luck to all the artists!

OPEN CALL:
The Bee Cave Arts Foundation (BCAF) will accept 10 inspired designs by artists and/or artist teams with the ability to create complex and engaging designs. Each Bee sculpture is 5 ft. tall by 4 ft. wide and made of a fiberglass/concrete mixture. The sculptures may be taken to a secure workspace and returned to The Hive upon completion (no later than Nov. 15, 2020). Alternatively, studio space will be available for artists to work at The Hive by the Bee Cave Arts Foundation located in the Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave, TX.
All of the Bee sculptures will be sprayed with a white primer before being released to the artists. All paint will be provided for this project. A stipend of $500 will be paid to each selected artist and/or team.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Please submit the following (must use PDF or Microsoft Word document):
- Cover Page with Name / Mailing Address / Phone Number / Email Address
- Narrative describing the concept and thought behind the design
- One of the following: Resume, CV or short biography
- Completed color copy of your design on the template provided. Must include “front” and “back”.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS:
Applications due August 15, 2020 via email to info@beecavearts.org. Subject line should read “Call for Bees artist’s application”. Please label file: Last Name_First Name_ Title of Work
SELECTION CRITERIA:
The submissions will be juried based on artistic excellence, uniqueness of design, visual impact and concept.
