Lakeway Garden Club hosts a quarterly meeting for all members at the Lake Travis Community Library. The September 5th autumn member mixer will include lively discussions about gardening and opportunities for volunteering in local garden projects. All are welcome to join for free if they are not already a member. See you then!

Local artist and illustrator Linda Wells will display her oil and pastel paintings in the library’s meeting room in September. Linda’s professional career included working as an Art Director at two printing companies and in the graphics department of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. Following her retirement, Linda dedicated herself to oil and pastel painting, with a particular focus on plein air techniques. Her primary subjects are nature and animals, reflecting her deep appreciation for the natural world. All are invited to Linda Wells’ art reception on Saturday, September 7th from 1:30pm to 3pm in the library’s meeting room.

Join cellist Mark “GumB” Williams for his show gumBasso proFundo including an hour of soothing cello, popular melodies, and intriguing improvisation – heightened by looping several parts to create a harmonious lush sound. Join us for this innovative live music at the Lake Travis Library! Mark self-identifies as “bassist, cellist, and bicycle mechanic in Austin, Texas available for your musical and mechanical needs.

Exchange your gently used puzzles with other puzzle enthusiasts at the Lake Travis Library! Puzzles must contain all pieces and be in good condition.

Every 3rd Tuesday of the month, you are invited to knit and crochet together at the Lake Travis Community Library (or via Zoom)! All experience levels are welcome to bring their own knitting project to receive tips and guidance from club members. Explore Austin-area museums for free! The 27th Annual Austin Museum Day is a free celebration of art, culture, history, music, nature, and science. Over thirty museums in the greater Austin area will welcome visitors with special programming including guided and self-guided exhibition tours, activities, and more for visitors of all ages. Participating museums include the Blanton Museum of Art, The Contemporary Austin, Mexic-Arte Museum, Texas State Capitol, Thinkery, UMLAUF Sculpture Garden + Museum and more! Join us for a relaxing Sound Bath meditative experience in which musical instruments like singing bowls are used to relax, realign and re-energize the body and mind. Participants gather around these musical instruments while the instructor guides her students into a deep, calming state. The term “bath” is used because participants are bathing in the sound as well as the vibrations the sound waves put off. These vibrations are incredibly calming as well, with the goal being to help stimulate your body into restoration as well as clearing out any negative emotions or energies that serve you no purpose. Please bring a mat and any other items you might need to feel comfortable such as a pillow, blanket, or eye mask.
