Join us at the Lake Travis Community Library for some great bluegrass style live music with the Eddie Collins and Max Zimmet Duo. Eddie and Max team up on acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, and vocals, playing bluegrass, country, rockabilly, and western swing standards and originals. The Austin-based duo of Eddie Collins and Max Zimmet is a side project of the popular Hot Pickin 57s. They team up on acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, and vocals, playing standards and originals in the genres of bluegrass, classic country (Hank Williams, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, etc), Rockabilly (Chuck Berry, Ricky Nelson, Johnny Rivers, etc.) and Texas Swing.

Ladies of the Lake Quilt Bee, which organized in Lakeway in 1997, is a subgroup of the Austin Area Quilt Guild. Activities involve various quilt-related projects. Individuals may work on their own projects, quilt or sew for a charity, share ideas, teach and encourage others in the art. LOLQB contributes to the ongoing service projects of the Austin Quilt Guild by making quilts for wounded soldiers and veterans. They donate quilts and other supplies to four Austin area agencies for abused and underprivileged children. Locally, they have contributed to the Lake Travis Community Library, the Thrift Shop of Lakeway and the Lakeway Heritage Committee (Liebelt cabin.) Occasional field trips round out their events. They meet on Wednesday’s from 9:15am – 12:15pm at the Lakeway Activity Center. Membership of the Lakeway Activity Center is required.
