Fiesta time, Lakeway! Mark your calendars for the first-ever City of Lakeway Cinco de Mayo Party on May 5th, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Lakeway Activity Center. Get ready for a fun-filled afternoon celebrating Mexican culture with friends and family. There’s something for everyone! Enjoy delicious free food (for the first 100 attendees!), the vibrant sounds of a live Mariachi band, and witness the energy of authentic Mexican dancing. Whether you simply want to relax, savor the food, and soak in the music, or want to get your groove on and join the festivities, this event is for you. We’ll also have fun activities planned for the whole family, with exciting prizes to be won by participants young and old. And to beat the Texas heat, there will be an optional mocktail margarita machine offering refreshing beverages for all ages. Feel free to bring your own beverages (BYOB) as well! So, come celebrate the spirit of Cinco de Mayo with Lakeway Parks & Recreation. We guarantee a fiesta you won’t forget!

Chaski, a flute and harp duo from Austin, Texas, plays music from around the globe, and from many musical traditions. Since 1985, flutist Adrienne Inglis and harpist Shana Norton have entertained audiences with folkloric tunes, classical repertoire, and contemporary works. They will present Words & Other Wild Things, a performance that combines literary readings with harp and flute music. Join us for live music in the library!

⁠The 4th annual Summer Arts Festival is a day-long event hosted by Contracommon on the Hill Country Galleria’s central plaza. Attendance is completely free of charge! This festival directly supports the emerging artists and makers of Central Texas by connecting them with a huge community of art lovers throughout west Austin and the Hill Country. With the addition of a juried regional exhibition in the Contracommon gallery, space for 45+ artist vendors, live music all day, and our Children’s Art Garden full of fun and free art activities, 2024 is is already looking BIG. ⁠
