Calling all Gingerbread Artists and Architects
It is the sweetest competition of the season! The Lakeway Parks & Recreation Department is launching a virtual Gingerbread House Decorating Contest starting December 14th. Gather your immediate household together to build a gingerbread house based on your personality and style. Then, take three photos from different angles and email your entry to events@lakeway-tx.gov. Entries must be submitted by midnight on December 28 with winners announced on December 29.
How to Enter the Contest
Entries Accepted: December 14 – December 28
Use your imagination and creativity to build a gingerbread house that reflects your individual personality and style. The gingerbread house can be store bought or baked yourself, whatever your heart desires. Then, cover it in candy coated trimmings such as candy canes, sprinkles, and icing. Build it tall or build it small. Build it with one room or 10. Build it just as you like, because there is no wrong way to design a gingerbread house!
Email your entries to: events@lakeway-tx.gov
Please include:
- Three (3) photos of your gingerbread house so we can see your creation at every angle.
- The names of everyone who helped to build your gingerbread house
- Which category you are entering (listed below)
- A line or two about your experience decorating your gingerbread house
Gingerbread Houses will be judged in 2 categories
- Individual/Family Gingerbread Houses
- Age 55+ Gingerbread Houses
How Do I Win?
Submit your entries by midnight on December 28th. Photos will be reviewed by our panel of jolly gingerbread-loving judges, and on December 29th we will announce a winner and a runner-up for each category. There will be a prize for each winning entry!
