Lakeway Arts District Turns 10!
The Lakeway Arts District is thrilled to announce its 10th Anniversary! For the past decade, we’ve served as an independent, vibrant hub for local artists, showcasing their talents and fostering creativity within our community. Through free newsletters, comprehensive artist directories, and a dynamic arts and culture calendar, we’ve proudly supported and celebrated the diverse artistic landscape of the Lakeway area. We invite the entire community to join us in commemorating this important milestone! We are incredibly grateful for the generous support of our community over the past 10 years. Women in Visual Art (WIVA)
Women in Visual Art (WIVA) is a dynamic organization dedicated to championing the voices of women artists. They design, curate and produce the renowned annual Women in Art and Women in Photography exhibitions held in March for Women’s History Month each year. Over 100 artists and photographers plus thousands of visitors have celebrated women’s creativity and artistry over the years. Feel the Undercurrent at Contracommon Art Gallery
Contracommon art gallery is proud to present Undercurrent, a juried regional exhibition of artists working in any media within a 100 mile radius of it’s Bee Cave location. The exhibition will be on view in the gallery from May 29th through July 10th, 2023. Undercurrent will open in conjunction with their Summer Arts Festival on Saturday, June 3rd from 2 – 8pm. In addition, Contracommon will host a closing reception for the exhibition on Saturday, July 8th from 6 – 9pm. Lakeway Arts District is proud to announce a new initiative to compile the first comprehensive Artist Directory for the greater Lakeway, TX area. Until now, there has not been a free and publicly available Artist Directory for our diverse Lakeway area complete with artists from visual, performing, applied, digital, and literary arts. We have such a large and energized population of talented local artists – our active artistic community is long overdue for a free resource like this. It is time to get to know one another!
