Dive into Global Affairs with Great Decisions Seminars
Join us for another fantastic series of Great Decisions topics at the Lake Travis Community Library. This free, in-person program will take place in Lake Travis Community Library meeting room biweekly on Thursday nights at 7pm from March 7th to June 13th, 2024. No registration is required. Great Decisions is a nationwide, non-partisan program sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association intended to broaden public involvement in foreign affairs. It was launched over 50 years ago, and today tens of thousands of participants take part in discussion groups each year. Ready to turn your artistic talents into a vibrant and colorful garden? Stop by on Saturday and get inspired with the Lakeway Garden Club at their Open House at the Lake Travis Community Library on April 22nd from 12-2pm. The Lakeway Garden Club will offer an overview of the club, its upcoming projects and how to become a member for free. How American Women Artists Expressed Their Suffragist Ideas
In keeping with the theme of Women’s History Month at the Lake Travis Community Library, join us for a virtual talk on March 28th at 1pm by Dr Pam Sachant PhD when she will focus on several American women artists working in the late 19th and early 20th centuries at the time of the Suffragist Movement in the US. Did you know that Texas was the first southern state to ratify the 19th amendment? Credit is due to the tireless Texas suffragists like Minnie Fisher Cunningham (pictured) who never gave up the fight for women’s right to vote.
