How American Women Artists Expressed Their Suffragist Ideas

In keeping with the theme of Women’s History Month at the Lake Travis Community Library, join us for a virtual talk on March 28th at 1pm by Dr Pam Sachant PhD when she will focus on several American women artists working in the late 19th and early 20th centuries at the time of the Suffragist Movement in the US. While some were active participants in or supporters of women’s right to vote, others of these artists made no references to the cause in their art or recorded words. Nevertheless, they all worked in a time of great social change. How can the challenges and opportunities of the era be seen in their paintings, photography, illustrations, and prints? The answers may surprise you! See you online for this interesting topic!
