Lakeway Painters Annual Exhibit and Sale
Began in 2002, the Lakeway Painters will honor musical legend Willie Nelson with their annual exhibit and sale on Sunday November 24th from 11am to 3pm at the Hills of Lakeway Country Club located in the Village of The Hills. The show is free to the public. More than 25 local artists will showcase a variety of works including watercolor, mixed media, acrylic and pastel. In addition to the beautiful art from the group’s members, this year many will also display artwork featuring their own unique vision of Austin’s Willie Nelson. The Lakeway Painters gather at 9am weekly on Wednesdays at the Lakeway Activity Center.

Plein Air: Art Opening at The Hive
Please join us at The Hive for an evening of spectacular art by local professional artists and outstanding art students. The opening night of Plein Air: Austin and Texas Sculptors on November 15th from 6-8pm will feature live demonstrations, hands-on activities and an opportunity to visit with the artists. The Hive is located in the Hill Country Galleria, across the street from Barnes & Noble and next door to The Gingerman. The exhibition runs from November 15, 2019 to January 10, 2020. Discover Artistic Nature at Lake Travis Library
The Lake Travis Community Library will display the watercolor and acrylic paintings of artist Penny Jamrack during the month of October. Originally from England, Jamrack moved to Texas in 1977. Jamrack is influenced by the beauty of nature, plants, and animals to create watercolor and acrylic paintings, jewelry, and mosaic pieces. The community is invited to Jamrack’s art reception on Saturday, October 5th from 1:30pm to 3pm and art demonstration on Sunday, October 13th at 1:30pm.

Lakeway City Park 25th Anniversary Photo Contest
Earlier this year, Lakeway City Park celebrated its 25th anniversary. During the month-long event a photo contest was held by the Arts Committee to highlight some of the natural beauty within the community. Residents were encouraged to submit striking images of Lakeway’s geological and scenic features. Judges selected a first and second place winner from each category. Congratulations to retired Lakeway Mayor, Joe Bain, who took the Grand Prize with his stunning aerial photo titled “Hurst Creek”. Lynn Zwern Art at LT Community Library
Join us this month at the LT Community Library to enjoy the colorful watercolor artwork of contemporary abstract painter Lynn Zwern. A member of Lakeway Painters, Zwern is known for her strong sense of color and design, which she incorporates into vibrant pieces using watercolors on Yupo paper. Her style is loose, creative, and eye-catching. All are welcome to attend Zwern’s reception on Sunday, September 22nd from 1:30pm to 3pm.
