Rock Out at the Texas Youth Music Festival!
The Texas Youth Music Festival is inviting talented middle and high school garage bands and solo performers to compete in its annual music competition. This vibrant event will take place from October 11th to 13th, 2024, at the Hill Country Galleria Plaza in Austin, Texas. Sponsored by the Austin School for the Performing and Visual Arts, the Bee Cave Arts Foundation, and the Musicians Woodshed, the festival provides a platform for young musicians to showcase their skills and gain valuable exposure. Local Artists and Live Music at the Cool Arts Show & Studio Tour
The Lakeway Arts Committee is hosting its annual Cool Arts Show & Studio Tour on Saturday, August 24th from 1pm to 5pm at the Lakeway Activity Center (105 Cross Creek). Enjoy live music by Bethany Becker while browsing beautiful artwork from many local artists. There will be paintings, jewelry, pottery, and even fun children’s activities like face painting and art projects. Want to see more art? Lakeway Art Walk Shines through the Clouds and Rain
The rain may have dampened some plans, but it couldn’t dampen the artistic spirit at the inaugural Lakeway Art Walk last weekend. While the outdoor exhibits and gatherings at the Hamilton Greenbelt and Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden couldn’t take place, there were many delightful indoor alternatives: a self-guided Studio Tour, LTHS student art exhibit, historical quilt retrospective, TexARTS theater showcase, and live music performance by the Christian Wiggs Sextet. Over Saturday and Sunday, art enthusiasts roamed across Lakeway, exploring the studios of local artists from 10am to 4pm. Throughout the year, the City of Lakeway Arts committee presents “Arts in the Afternoon” a series of arts events from various talented and local performers. Performances include local musicians, bands, classical chamber music, dance and more.
