Relax with Classical Chamber Music Concerts
For 30 years, the local organization Salon Concerts has been nurturing the art and love of chamber music, providing wonderfully curated concert experiences to the greater Austin area in intimate settings. Their educational program, CHAMPS, is dedicated to providing hard-working young musicians with opportunities to deepen their lives through excellence in chamber music education and performance. To keep the community, staff, and musicians as healthy as possible they have had to make the tough decision to cancel or postpone all major events at this time and move our education program CHAMPS online. This inaugural concert with guest performers from the Lake Travis High School Orchestra will take place on November 16th at 7:30pm in the Lake Travis Performing Arts Center. Balcones Orchestra Concert
Lakeway welcomes the Balcones Community Orchestra again to our Lakeway Activity Center for another wonderful performance. In this free afternoon concert, the Orchestra will perform: Metamorphosis (2019) by Adrienne Inglis Mendelssohn: Sinfonia No. 1 in C-Major Haydn: Symphony No.84 in E-Flat Metamorphosis(2019) by Adrienne Inglis for flute, harp, and string orchestra, commissioned by Balcones Community Orchestra celebrates the life and work of Maria Sybilla Merian (1647-1717), pioneering entomologist, naturalist, and artist. Besides presenting the world première performance of Metamorphosis, Chaski flute/harp duo with flutist Adrienne Inglis and harpist Shana Norton will also perform the Texas première of Le barde muet by Bernard Andrés.
