    A Glimpse into Penny Jamrack’s Artistic World

    Renowned Lakeway artist Penny Jamrack will grace the Lake Travis Community Library this November with an enchanting exhibition of her watercolor and acrylic paintings. Originally from England, Penny has lived in several countries before settling in Texas in 1977. Retiring from a career in software development in 1997, she turned her attention to her artistic passions, particularly watercolor and acrylic painting. Her studies have taken her to Australia, Austin, and Bozeman, Montana, where she learned from accomplished artists. Inspired by the natural world, Penny’s works often feature the beauty of plants, birds, and animals.     Get Started in Documentary Filmmaking

    Join Lake Travis Film Festival and four-time Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker, Juan Agustin Marquez, for a free 3-week documentary filmmaking workshop. Over the course of three Saturdays from 10:30-12:00, they will teach you everything you need to know to make your first documentary film – everything from developing ideas, taking a film through production and into post-production, and getting a finished film seen. At the end of the workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to make a short documentary film of your own. They will showcase these films at the 2023 Lake Travis Film Festival in September.     Get Ready for Inspiration Fest

    Lakeway Church’s Inspiration Fest will be a day-long, family-friendly celebration of creative gifts on April 23, 2022. More than an art fair, the Fest will feature exhibits, demonstrations, workshops, and talks on a wide variety of artistic endeavors such as painting, cooking, gardening, writing, photography, pottery, sculpting, acting, music and more. The event is free for the public to attend. Doors open at 10 am and the event closes at 4 pm. Donations from participants and attendees help support The Refuge. Ready to Inspire Others?     Lakeway Arts District is proud to announce a new initiative to compile the first comprehensive Artist Directory for the greater Lakeway, TX area. Until now, there has not been a free and publicly available Artist Directory for our diverse Lakeway area complete with artists from visual, performing, applied, digital, and literary arts.
