Join us at the Lake Travis Library to cultivate gratitude, compassion, and connection with meditation teacher Sameh Neseim. Open your heart and spread the spirit of thanks – all are welcome to join! This ancient Buddhist practice involves directing thoughts of kindness and goodwill towards yourself and others. By cultivating compassion and positive emotions, loving-kindness meditation is believed to enhance overall mental and emotional well-being, making it a perfect complement to the spirit of gratitude during the Thanksgiving season.

All are invited to play American Mahjong at the Lake Travis Community Library on Monday afternoons. Please bring cards and sets if you have them and join in the fun! This is a free play, open session without a dedicated instructor. New to American Mahjong? Learn the basics in Mahjong 101. About Mahjong: Mahjong (mah-JONG) is a tile-based game that was developed in China during the Qing dynasty that has spread throughout the world since the early 20th century. It is commonly played by four players. The game and its regional variants are widely played throughout Eastern and Southeastern Asia and have become popular in America and other Western countries too. The game has also been adapted into popular online entertainment. Similar to the Western card game rummy, Mahjong is a game of skill, strategy, and calculation with a degree of chance. Ladies of the Lake Quilt Bee

Ladies of the Lake Quilt Bee, which organized in Lakeway in 1997, is a subgroup of the Austin Area Quilt Guild. Activities involve various quilt-related projects. Individuals may work on their own projects, quilt or sew for a charity, share ideas, teach and encourage others in the art. LOLQB contributes to the ongoing service projects of the Austin Quilt Guild by making quilts for wounded soldiers and veterans. They donate quilts and other supplies to four Austin area agencies for abused and underprivileged children. Locally, they have contributed to the Lake Travis Community Library, the Thrift Shop of Lakeway and the Lakeway Heritage Committee (Liebelt cabin.) Occasional field trips round out their events. They meet on Wednesday’s from 9:15am – 12:15pm at the Lakeway Activity Center. Membership of the Lakeway Activity Center is required.
