The City of Lakeway Arts Committee announces the 19th Annual Lakeway Photo Festival. This free and open to the public photography festival is a cherished annual event that showcases the talented local photographers and scenic beauty in Lakeway. Anytime is a great time to take photographs of the beautiful Lakeway area we live in. Our nature, wildlife, events, activities, volunteers and artistic views are all categories for photo entries this year. Bunkhouse Tuesday Art Group
During the annual show at the historic bunkhouse, the adjacent barn and the stone house at Wenmohs Ranch spring to life as the Bunkhouse Gallery. This unique Hill Country location is a whimsical space full of art in different forms, from abstract and still life paintings, to collage, southwest art, jewelry, pottery and wood-work. The barn is an all-year round art space where the Bunkhouse artists meet every Tuesday to create, advance and share their ideas about art, life and what have you. Lakeway Fireworks Show says “BuhBye” to 2020 and Welcome to 2021
What a year! Now it is time to say “good riddance” to 2020 in style! The City of Lakeway is hosting a short fireworks show to blow out 2020 and ring in a happy and healthy 2021. The fireworks will launch at an elevated location on the western edge of Lakeway (behind Rough Hollow Elementary school) on Wednesday, December 30 starting at 8 p.m. The show will last approximately 10 minutes. While it will be viewable from multiple points throughout the city, there will be limited parking available at some empty lots off Bee Creek Road just north of Highlands Boulevard (see map below for details). Calling all Gingerbread Artists and Architects
It is the sweetest competition of the season! The Lakeway Parks & Recreation Department is launching a virtual Gingerbread House Decorating Contest starting December 14th. Gather your immediate household together to build a gingerbread house based on your personality and style. Then, take three photos from different angles and email your entry to events@lakeway-tx.gov. Entries must be submitted by midnight on December 28 with winners announced on December 29.
