Artist Statement:
Each piece I complete is a window into my thoughts on life. I am inspired to create art by my surroundings, whether it be nature, music or relationships. The focus of my art has changed in both medium and subject as I grow older and wiser about life and has recently moved into more abstract images full of color and movement. I no longer attempt to duplicate the visions I have of nature, as I realize that it is impossible to duplicate the beauty around us. Instead I have allowed myself the freedom to enjoy the creativity of art and the resulting artwork is more passionate, spontaneous and above all… fun. I hope the viewer enjoys each piece as I do and sees in each one something that reminds them of the world around us.
Art has been a part of my life since I was a child. I studied through out my life, in schools and with other artists. My travels around the world and my life in several states, including the beautiful islands of Hawaii, exposed me to so many beautiful places and moments that I never lack for inspiration. Through much of my life, art has been a “hobby” due to a busy corporate life. Only in retirement from corporate life have I had the luxury to pursue my passion.
