Bee Cave is Swarming with New Outdoor Art

The Bees of Bee Cave is an outdoor public art project presented by The Bee Cave Arts Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with the mission to improve the quality of life in our community and enhance the experience of visitors by bringing awareness, education and integration of a wide range of art throughout public spaces.

Each large scale Bee Sculpture was designed by local artists/artist groups to reflect their creative freedom and visually engage the community and visitors of Bee Cave, Texas.

How to Visit The Bees of Bee Cave:

The Bees are on display now at the Hill Country Galleria and will be featured in this year’s Austin Studio Tour (November 14-22), along with the Bee Cave Sculpture Park. The tour will be displaying Virtual Exhibitions, Online Programs, and city-wide Art Outdoors like ours that can be safely viewed by self-guided walking or drive-by tours.

Join us to explore the Enchanted Forest Walk behind Lakeway City Hall this April! Tiny fairy and gnome homes line the way as you stroll under a canopy of magical trees and twinkling lights. Whimsical loving residents of all ages will delight in catching a glimpse of ethereal abodes along this self guided walk. Charming creatures abound and surprises await around every turn. See you there! When: April 15 – 29, 2024 Where: Trail behind City Hall Cost: Free Time: Dawn to Dark. The walk is enjoyable by day and many of the features light up at dusk for a magical evening stroll! Many years ago, after an inspiring watercolor class by Johnnie Fields, a well-known Lakeway artist, a group of his students enthusiastically established The Lakeway Painters which continues to grow and thrive today. Each Wednesday, The Lakeway Painters’ club gets together to paint in a supportive environment and have a friendly critique of their members’ art. Bring your artwork and supplies and meet others who like to express creatively with watercolors, acrylics, collages and more. The Lakeway Painters meet every Wednesday from 9:45 am-12:15 pm. LTCL Great Decisions Seminar

Join us for another fantastic series of Great Decisions topics at the Lake Travis Community Library. This free, in-person program will take place in Lake Travis Community Library meeting room biweekly on Thursday nights at 7pm. No registration is required. Great Decisions is a nationwide, non-partisan program sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association intended to broaden public involvement in foreign affairs. It was launched over 50 years ago, and today tens of thousands of participants take part in discussion groups each year. Our library is proud to be hosting our sixth year of participation in the Great Decisions Program. Eight topics have been selected this year for discussion. The Foreign Policy Association provides a Great Decisions Briefing Book if participants choose to read articles in advance, and each program begins with a video presentation outlining the issues of the evening’s topic. Calling all Jedi Knights, Rebel heroes, and scoundrels of all stripes! May the Fourth be with you, and may you join Lakeway Parks & Recreation for a Star Wars movie event that’s out of this world! Gather your crew and head to City Park’s Lower Level (near the playscape) on May the 4th, 2024. Festivities kick off at 5:30 pm, with delicious food courtesy of CraigO’s Pizza available for purchase to fuel your galactic adventure. As the suns begin to set, get ready to blast off into a galaxy far, far away with a screening of Solo: A Star Wars Story (PG-13). The movie starts at 6:00 pm sharp, so be sure to bring your own blankets or lawn chairs to create your perfect spot under the stars. Feel free to dress up as your favorite Star Wars character and join the fun! A prize will be awarded for the Best Dressed costume, announced at 6:30 pm. And to make the evening even sweeter, there will be complimentary popcorn and fun Star Wars giveaways for everyone! Get ready for a fun-filled afternoon celebrating Mexican culture with friends and family. There’s something for everyone! Enjoy delicious free food (for the first 100 attendees!), the vibrant sounds of a live Mariachi band, and witness the energy of authentic Mexican dancing. Whether you simply want to relax, savor the food, and soak in the music, or want to get your groove on and join the festivities, this event is for you. We’ll also have fun activities planned for the whole family, with exciting prizes to be won by participants young and old. And to beat the Texas heat, there will be an optional mocktail margarita machine offering refreshing beverages for all ages. Feel free to bring your own beverages (BYOB) as well!
