Call for Artists to Help Preserve our Dark Skies
Call for Artists and Photographers! The City of Bee Cave in partnership with the Bee Cave Arts Foundation invites photographers of all levels to submit work reflecting the theme “The Night Sky.” There is no entry fee, and each photographer may submit up to five entries. All images are entitled to a review by the City of Bee Cave and the exhibit curator. Selected images will be displayed at The Hive by the Bee Cave Arts Foundation from October 14 – November 14. Until now, there has not been a free and publicly available Artist Directory for our diverse Lakeway area complete with artists from visual, performing, applied, digital, and literary arts. Bee Cave Buzzes with a Call for Local Artists
Call for Artists! The Bee Cave Arts Foundation announces The Bees of Bee Cave, a public art exhibition featuring 10 Bee Sculptures designed by local artists to reflect the creative freedom of the artist and visually engage the community and visitors at the Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave Texas. The Loss of an Artistic Legend: Johnnie Fields 1927-2020
It is with great sadness and condolences to report that the original “Lakeway Painter”, Johnnie Fields passed away on June 7, 2020. Mr Fields was known throughout the community as a notable architect and one of the most talented watercolor artists in Texas as well as the founder of the Lakeway Painters group. His career path melded his love of architecture with his passion for watercolor. Johnnie often told his watercolor students to “be loose and unafraid” while painting.
