Get Crafty at the Lake Travis Community Library
Each month the Lake Travis Community Library generously hosts a number of creative adult and kids crafting classes for their patrons. Adult Crafts are the third Monday of each month from 1 to 2pm while the Kids Come and Go Crafts take place the first or second Saturday each month from 1 to 3pm, depending on holidays etc. Check our monthly calendar for more details. Come join us and get your craft on! This month’s Adult Crafts class on Monday Feb 17th features Painted Rocks by local artist Nancy Butler Cosman. Lakeway Painters Annual Exhibit and Sale
Began in 2002, the Lakeway Painters will honor musical legend Willie Nelson with their annual exhibit and sale on Sunday November 24th from 11am to 3pm at the Hills of Lakeway Country Club located in the Village of The Hills. The show is free to the public. More than 25 local artists will showcase a variety of works including watercolor, mixed media, acrylic and pastel. In addition to the beautiful art from the group’s members, this year many will also display artwork featuring their own unique vision of Austin’s Willie Nelson. The Lakeway Painters gather at 9am weekly on Wednesdays at the Lakeway Activity Center.

Discover Artistic Nature at Lake Travis Library
The Lake Travis Community Library will display the watercolor and acrylic paintings of artist Penny Jamrack during the month of October. Originally from England, Jamrack moved to Texas in 1977. Jamrack is influenced by the beauty of nature, plants, and animals to create watercolor and acrylic paintings, jewelry, and mosaic pieces. The community is invited to Jamrack’s art reception on Saturday, October 5th from 1:30pm to 3pm and art demonstration on Sunday, October 13th at 1:30pm.

Art is Everywhere
We are finding art everywhere in Lakeway! Another beautiful sculpture has recently been generously gifted to the City of Lakeway. Join us Monday November 18th at 4:30pm when we celebrate the official unveiling of this monumental cast bronze sculpture “The Game” by acclaimed Californian artist Robert Holmes! It is located in the Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden (map) on Lohmans Crossing across from the Hamilton Greenbelt. Free to the public and refreshments provided. For Directions:

Lynn Zwern Art at LT Community Library
Join us this month at the LT Community Library to enjoy the colorful watercolor artwork of contemporary abstract painter Lynn Zwern. A member of Lakeway Painters, Zwern is known for her strong sense of color and design, which she incorporates into vibrant pieces using watercolors on Yupo paper. Her style is loose, creative, and eye-catching. All are welcome to attend Zwern’s reception on Sunday, September 22nd from 1:30pm to 3pm.
