Enter the 2023 Lakeway Photo Festival
Celebrating its 21st year, the Lakeway Photo Festival showcases both the unique beauty of our area and the amazing talents of our local photographers. This year the photo categories include Artistic, Community, Nature (Sky, Water and Greenery), Pets and Wildlife (Deer, Birds and Critters) plus a brand new category celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Lakeway called Heritage. Amateur and professional photographers are encouraged to enter. All photos must be taken in the City of Lakeway and by residents within the Lake Travis ISD area. Submit your entries starting April 1 and ending May 20, 2023. Awards reception will be held Sunday June 11th at the Lakeway Activity Center from 4-5pm.…

Celebrate Women’s History with Citizens at Last: Texas Women Fight for the Vote
Did you know that Texas was the first southern state to ratify the 19th amendment? Credit is due to the tireless Texas suffragists like Minnie Fisher Cunningham (pictured) who never gave up the fight for women’s right to vote. Join us on Thursday March 16th at 6pm at the Lake Travis Community Library for a free screening of the acclaimed documentary “Citizens at Last“ directed and produced by UT Professor Nancy Schiesari and based on the book of the same name by Ellen Temple. Celebrate “Women in Art” this March!
The Lakeway Arts District presents “Women in Art”, a very special art exhibition celebrating Women’s History Month from March 1-31st at the Lake Travis Community Library. This creative exhibit of paintings, drawings, digital AI art and mixed media sculptures by local women artists was inspired by women’s history, health, beauty, motherhood and equality. BuzzFest
Bee Cave Buzzfest is an award-winning annual tech-art festival featuring nationally acclaimed electronic music performers and immersive light and sound art installations. The Bee Cave BuzzFest was created by an interdisciplinary team of artists, designers, technologists, engineers, and creative entrepreneurs to create a huge art and sound installation with video art projections, immersive multichannel sound, original electronic music compositions, and choreographed performances featuring light-reactive props and costumes. Teen Read Week Art Exhibit at Lake Travis Library
In November and December the Lake Travis Community Library will display artwork from the annual Teen Read Week Art Contest, a competition where participants were invited to create an original piece of art inspired by their personal reading experiences. The exhibit will include the six award-winning entries and five honorable mentions. “We are absolutely amazed by the creativity and quality of the entries again this year. Kudos to all the young artists who participated.” – Judges Ben Kuenemann, Ann Neighbors, and Pam Sachant. Thanks to the Friends of the Library, cash prizes were awarded to the winners.
