Irish Artistic Inspiration in Lakeway
Join us at the Lake Travis Community Library for an art reception welcoming local artist Diane Whooley. Born and raised in Ireland, Whooley has lived and worked all over the world, something she uses as inspiration for her artwork. In style, she is changing all the time, switching from landscapes to portraits to abstracts and back again in various canvas sizes and mediums. As a teacher, she believes that “there is an artist in everyone, you just need to have the passion.” All are invited to the library for Whooley’s in-person art reception on Saturday, June 4th from 2pm to 3:30pm. Pastel Painting as Art Therapy
For the month of May, all patrons of the Lake Travis Community Library are invited to enjoy the exhibit of local artist Julie Schmidt. Schmidt has always loved color and design. She began painting when she was a teenager and continued to take various art classes while in school at UT. Yet as a professional working in Houston in the oil industry, Schmidt found that she had little time left for her art. Now, after a forty year hiatus, Schmidt has resumed her art journey. Bring your Art to The Hive
The Hive in Bee Cave is celebrating its 3rd Annual Members Only Exhibition from May 27 – October 7, 2022. Deadline for Submissions May 4th at 11:59pm and there is no application fee. All participants must be a member of the Bee Cave Arts Foundation. Each member may submit up to three works of art. Every member will be guaranteed at least one piece will be selected for exhibition. Art Intersects Science in April
Visit the Lake Travis Community Library this April to view the photography exhibit of local artist Mary Seewoster. Seewoster grew up in Missouri and worked at the University of Missouri’s Department of History and Research Reactor. After receiving a camera from a co-worker, she learned the basics of 35mm film photography and began volunteering to take photos of instruments, experiments, and student research projects. She applied for and won an award to attend workshops sponsored by the Professional Photographers of America. In 2000, Seewoster became a mid-life career changer and earned a Bachelor of Science in Photography. In 2008, after the loss of her Missouri relatives, she left for Texas.…

The City of Lakeway Arts Committee presents the 2022 Cool Arts Show and Studio Tour on August 27th from 1-5pm at the Lakeway Activity Center. This year the annual party has expanded to an unique arts festival chock full of live music, food trucks, and kids activities. You won’t want to miss it!
