Enjoy the Magic of Classical Music with the Balcones Orchestra
Join us on Sunday, September 24th at 4pm as the Balcones Community Orchestra performs a selection of classic orchestra favorites at the Lakeway Activity Center as a part of the popular Arts in the Afternoon series. The Balcones Orchestra is a symphony of 36 musicians and is directed by Dr. Robert Alan Radmer. The all-volunteer group draws its repertoire from the masterworks for small orchestras. Dr. Radmer is the founder and Music Director of the Balcones Community Orchestra, now in its 23rd season. Grand Opening of the Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden
Join us for fun grand opening festivities for the newest park in Lakeway! The Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden (104 Cross Creek, Lakeway, TX 78734) is a beautiful new park located in Lakeway, Texas. It is home to a collection of bronze sculptures by local artists. On Sunday October 15th at 4pm, there will be an official ribbon cutting ceremony with the mayor to celebrate the opening of the new sculpture garden and the start of a new era for the arts in Lakeway. Put your Dancing Shoes on at the Lakeway Dance Club
Join the Lakeway Dance Club as they kick off another fun series of dance events at the Lakeway Activity Center this fall. The club currently hosts 5 dances per year – in October, November, January, February and March. Cost is $70 per person for the 5 dance event season. Dances are typically held on the third Thursday of the month at the Lakeway Activity Center from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Each dance has a live band and is BYOB. Vibrant Oil Paintings of Texas and Lake Travis
The Lakeway Arts Committee is proud to feature the oil paintings of local artist Mary Barnes at City Hall. The gallery is open during normal business hours, or before, during, or after a City Council meeting. The gallery is located just outside the lobby area at City Hall, 1102 Lohmans Crossing Road. Barnes’ oil paintings capture the beauty of the Texas and Lake Travis area in vivid detail. Her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions throughout the state.
