Be More Chill pops into the Lake Travis Theater Scene
Get ready to meet the answer to all your teen insecurities…a minty SQUIP (super quantum unit Intel processor) popped like a Tic Tac and washed down with some Mountain Dew (only the green kind please). This musical swept from a small community theater in Red Bank, NJ to the lights of Broadway on a tidal wave of social media. Suddenly Seymour! It’s TexARTS’ Little Shop of Horrors
The TexARTS Professional Series presents Little Shop of Horrors with book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken. Performances take place October 4-20, 2019 at the Kam & James Morris Theatre in Lakeway. Val Williams leads the production as director. Broadway’s J. Quinton Johnson returns to TexARTS to choreograph and Lyn Koenning serves as the music director for the production. The hilarious rock musical was inspired by the campy film of the same name. Lakeway Sing Along Celebrates 20th Anniversary
Lakeway Sing Along celebrates two decades of entertaining area music lovers with its 20th Anniversary Spring Show at the Lakeway Activity Center on April 25-27. Expect an array of favorites from past Sing Along shows, as well as familiar songs about who they are and those who helped them get where they are today. Doors open for these dinner show performances at 6 p.m., with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. and the show following. BYOB, of course, and tables of 10 available. Who are The Wildflowers?
The Wildflowers are a group of female vocalists who perform the beautiful American musical genre; barbershop. The talented group meets regularly at the Lakeway Activity Center on Tuesdays from 3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Directed by Adam Poynor, the chorus consists of approximately 35 Lakeway area women who love to perform in four-part harmony. Tickets may be purchased for their annual performances at the Lakeway Activity Center, or you may find them performing around the area during special occasions such as the City’s Annual 4th of July Celebration or at the Holiday Celebration, Lights On.
