Grand Opening of the Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden
Join us for fun grand opening festivities for the newest park in Lakeway! The Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden (104 Cross Creek, Lakeway, TX 78734) is a beautiful new park located in Lakeway, Texas. It is home to a collection of bronze sculptures by local artists. On Sunday October 15th at 4pm, there will be an official ribbon cutting ceremony with the mayor to celebrate the opening of the new sculpture garden and the start of a new era for the arts in Lakeway. The Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce is launching Taste Lake Travis – a food and beverage festival that will bring together the region’s leaders in food, beverage, and makers of artisan goods. The festival will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 12pm – 4pm at The Meadows at Safe Harbor Marina at Emerald Point on Lake Travis. Celebrate Independence Day the Lakeway Way
Independence Day is the City of Lakeway’s biggest celebration of the year! This year there are lots of fun activities for the whole family. Congratulations to the 2023 Lakeway Photo Festival Winners!
The City of Lakeway Arts Committee is proud to announce the winning photos for the 2023 Lakeway Photo Festival! There were 164 beautiful digital photographs entered from 54 talented local photographers – the most ever! The categories this year were Artistic, Community, Nature/Greenery, Nature/Sky, Nature/Water, Pets, Wildlife/Birds and Wildlife/Critters. Thanks to everyone who attended the awards reception and special thanks to our live jazz musicians and talented honors band saxophonists, Nick and Luka, who played so beautifully in the 100 degree heat! Exploring Planets and Stars at the Lake Travis Community Library
Join us at the Lake Travis Community Library for fun events this summer like experiencing the wonders of the night sky from inside a mobile planetarium! On June 9th from 12-3pm, you can enter the planetarium dome and be introduced to a “star filled” sky at the Library. A trained astronomy educator from Austin Stars and Science will guide you through the stars and our solar system with the use of a digital planetarium projector and a laser pointer. How to participate: There will be six, 30-minute Mobile Planetarium sessions (12pm, 12:30pm, 1pm, 1:30pm, 2pm, and 2:30pm) with a limit of 24 participants per session.
