Looking for a fun way to get crafty while quarantined and not leaving your home? Join the awesome Lake Travis Community Library’s online Japanese origami paper folding class each Monday via Zoom. Get Crafty at the Lake Travis Community Library
Each month the Lake Travis Community Library generously hosts a number of creative adult and kids crafting classes for their patrons. Adult Crafts are the third Monday of each month from 1 to 2pm while the Kids Come and Go Crafts take place the first or second Saturday each month from 1 to 3pm, depending on holidays etc. Check our monthly calendar for more details. Embroidery Artwork and Demonstration at LTCL in January
Local artist and Lake Travis Community Library volunteer Carol van Ginkel will exhibit her embroidery artwork during the month of January. Carol grew up in Pittsburgh where her grandmother introduced her to embroidery. After she got the hang of it, she tried new ideas by searching for images that she wanted to “paint” in threads. Carol enjoys experimenting with various techniques, styles, and materials to create her detailed pieces. All are invited to attend her reception on Sunday, January 12th from 2pm to 3:30pm and demonstration on Sunday, January 19th beginning at 2pm.

Discover Artistic Nature at Lake Travis Library
The Lake Travis Community Library will display the watercolor and acrylic paintings of artist Penny Jamrack during the month of October. Originally from England, Jamrack moved to Texas in 1977. Jamrack is influenced by the beauty of nature, plants, and animals to create watercolor and acrylic paintings, jewelry, and mosaic pieces. The community is invited to Jamrack’s art reception on Saturday, October 5th from 1:30pm to 3pm and art demonstration on Sunday, October 13th at 1:30pm.
