Congratulations to the 2023 Lakeway Photo Festival Winners!
The City of Lakeway Arts Committee is proud to announce the winning photos for the 2023 Lakeway Photo Festival! There were 164 beautiful digital photographs entered from 54 talented local photographers – the most ever! The categories this year were Artistic, Community, Nature/Greenery, Nature/Sky, Nature/Water, Pets, Wildlife/Birds and Wildlife/Critters. Thanks to everyone who attended the awards reception and special thanks to our live jazz musicians and talented honors band saxophonists, Nick and Luka, who played so beautifully in the 100 degree heat! Weaving Artistic Dreams with Natural Elements
Local fiber artist Sharon Moore will display her mixed media art in the Lake Travis Community Library this month. A native of Houston, Moore graduated from Rice University and taught high school English and Humanities before moving to Austin. Moore is a lifelong artist who spent many years painting in oils and acrylics and creating handmade jewelry. Now she focuses on creating fiber designs such as wall hangings, mandalas, dreamcatchers, and organic tapestries that incorporate materials like shells, feathers, beads, and driftwood. She also fashions woven forms on wire matrixes to create baskets and sculptural artwork. All are invited to Moore’s reception at the Lake Travis Community Library on Saturday…

Feel the Undercurrent at Contracommon Art Gallery
Contracommon art gallery is proud to present Undercurrent, a juried regional exhibition of artists working in any media within a 100 mile radius of it’s Bee Cave location. The exhibition will be on view in the gallery from May 29th through July 10th, 2023. Undercurrent will open in conjunction with their Summer Arts Festival on Saturday, June 3rd from 2 – 8pm. In addition, Contracommon will host a closing reception for the exhibition on Saturday, July 8th from 6 – 9pm. Exhibit your Artwork at the Cool Arts Show and Studio Tour
Don’t miss the annual Cool Arts Show and Studio Tour to enjoy the best local art in Lakeway! The Lakeway Arts Committee will hold the annual Cool Arts Show and Studio Tour on Saturday, August 26 and Sunday, August 27. Over twenty artists will exhibit and sell their work at the Lakeway Activity Center. Attendees will find paintings, watercolors, pottery, garden art and more from many talented local artists. As an additional fun feature this year, visitors will be able to create a piece for a upcoming Lakeway Rock Garden in Hamilton Greenbelt.
