Arts in the Afternoon: Lakeway Masterpiece Concert No. 3
Join us on Sunday May 21st when classical music resonates once again at Masterpiece Concert No. 3 from 4-5pm at the Lakeway Activity Center. Founding musicians Andrew and Sari Pearce, along with professional orchestra guest musicians, will perform some of the most beautiful classical music ever written. At this Masterpiece Concert No. 3 in the Masterpiece Concert Series, the program will feature violins, viola, cello and piano to perform Franz Schubert’s String Quartet No. 13 in A Minor, “Rosemunde” and Antonin Dvorak’s Piano Quintet in A Major, Op 81. Get Inspired at the Lakeway Garden Club Open House
Ready to turn your artistic talents into a vibrant and colorful garden? Stop by on Saturday and get inspired with the Lakeway Garden Club at their Open House at the Lake Travis Community Library on April 22nd from 12-2pm. The Lakeway Garden Club will offer an overview of the club, its upcoming projects and how to become a member for free. Lakeway City Hall Art Gallery Grand Opening
Join us at the Grand Opening of the Lakeway City Hall Art Gallery on Monday April 17th at 5:30pm. Talented local artist Linda Wells has created a scenic art journey of Lakeway’s iconic vistas through her beautiful pastel artworks and paintings. Linda finds that a love of nature’s beauty is what inspires her to paint. Her exhibit will be available from April 3rd – June 30th during business hours in Lakeway City Hall. Get Started in Documentary Filmmaking
Join Lake Travis Film Festival and four-time Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker, Juan Agustin Marquez, for a free 3-week documentary filmmaking workshop. Over the course of three Saturdays from 10:30-12:00, they will teach you everything you need to know to make your first documentary film – everything from developing ideas, taking a film through production and into post-production, and getting a finished film seen. At the end of the workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to make a short documentary film of your own. They will showcase these films at the 2023 Lake Travis Film Festival in September. Call for Artwork at Austin Pets Alive!
Life Scout Tyce Bogdon from Boy Scout Troop 52 is working on a project benefiting Austin Pets Alive, a local non-profit organization that provides care to dogs and cats who are looking for a home. He is creating a new outdoor space that is in a high-traffic area of their Town Lake headquarters. The hope is that this new space will inspire and encourage more donations and pet adoptions.
