Worldly Watercolors Art Reception and Exhibit
Ben Kuenemann Art Reception – Sunday, December 8th from 2pm to 3:30pm The library will exhibit the travel inspired watercolor paintings of local artist Ben Kuenemann during the month of December. Kuenemann picked up oil painting after his retirement in 1996, when his wife Sylvia encouraged him to take classes. He switched to watercolor in 2001 and has made painting a regular part of his life. Kuenemann has generously offered to auction off the painting The Gapstow Bridge in Central Park NYC with the proceeds going to the library. Ring in the Holidays with a Lakeway Sing Along
Lakeway Sing Along celebrates their 20th anniversary of entertaining local crowds on Sunday, December 8th at the Lakeway Activity Center (map), with a special family Christmas Show featuring many favorite holiday songs from past years. There isn’t a better way to get into the holiday spirit than with a Christmas music show, especially one benefiting low-income children. There will be ample opportunity for audience participation – and a really good chance Santa and Mrs.Claus will drop in! Back-to-back performances will be held on December 8 at 2:00 p.m and 4:30 p.m at the Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek. No need for reservations, but come early to get a good seat. Lakeway Painters Annual Exhibit and Sale
Began in 2002, the Lakeway Painters will honor musical legend Willie Nelson with their annual exhibit and sale on Sunday November 24th from 11am to 3pm at the Hills of Lakeway Country Club located in the Village of The Hills. The show is free to the public. More than 25 local artists will showcase a variety of works including watercolor, mixed media, acrylic and pastel. In addition to the beautiful art from the group’s members, this year many will also display artwork featuring their own unique vision of Austin’s Willie Nelson. The Lakeway Painters gather at 9am weekly on Wednesdays at the Lakeway Activity Center.

Plein Air: Art Opening at The Hive
Please join us at The Hive for an evening of spectacular art by local professional artists and outstanding art students. The opening night of Plein Air: Austin and Texas Sculptors on November 15th from 6-8pm will feature live demonstrations, hands-on activities and an opportunity to visit with the artists. The Hive is located in the Hill Country Galleria, across the street from Barnes & Noble and next door to The Gingerman. The exhibition runs from November 15, 2019 to January 10, 2020.
