Suddenly Seymour! It’s TexARTS’ Little Shop of Horrors
The TexARTS Professional Series presents Little Shop of Horrors with book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken. Performances take place October 4-20, 2019 at the Kam & James Morris Theatre in Lakeway. Val Williams leads the production as director. Broadway’s J. Quinton Johnson returns to TexARTS to choreograph and Lyn Koenning serves as the music director for the production. The hilarious rock musical was inspired by the campy film of the same name. Discover Artistic Nature at Lake Travis Library
The Lake Travis Community Library will display the watercolor and acrylic paintings of artist Penny Jamrack during the month of October. Originally from England, Jamrack moved to Texas in 1977. Jamrack is influenced by the beauty of nature, plants, and animals to create watercolor and acrylic paintings, jewelry, and mosaic pieces. The community is invited to Jamrack’s art reception on Saturday, October 5th from 1:30pm to 3pm and art demonstration on Sunday, October 13th at 1:30pm.

Lakeway City Park 25th Anniversary Photo Contest
Earlier this year, Lakeway City Park celebrated its 25th anniversary. During the month-long event a photo contest was held by the Arts Committee to highlight some of the natural beauty within the community. Residents were encouraged to submit striking images of Lakeway’s geological and scenic features. Judges selected a first and second place winner from each category. Congratulations to retired Lakeway Mayor, Joe Bain, who took the Grand Prize with his stunning aerial photo titled “Hurst Creek”. Nosferatu and a Symphony of Horror!
Join us as we celebrate the spookiest time of year with Lake Travis High School Chamber Orchestra as they play by a live orchestral score to the classic 1922 silent film Nosferatu on Saturday, October 26 at 7pm at the Lakeway Activity Center.
