Showcase Your Art at the Lake Travis Community Library
Calling All Artists The Lake Travis Community Library and Friends of the Library sponsor an ongoing rotating art exhibit. Local artists interested in being a part of this program should pick up a packet containing the policy and application form at the library. Packets are now available and will be eligible to be considered for display in the upcoming months.

Enjoy a pleasant Saturday afternoon in our mild Texas spring to view and purchase fine art creations by our local artists and add a local touch of Texas to your home” ~ Russ Block, Lakeway Arts Committe The Lakeway Arts Committee is hosting a Spring Fine Arts Show from 1-5 p.m. May 16 at Lakeway Activity Center. The exhibition and sale will feature fine art paintings, pottery, sculpture and jewelry created by local area artists. All fine art will be original and for sale, unless otherwise noted on the piece of art. Checks or cash are preferred. If you are an artist and would be interested in having a free webpage showcasing your art on our Arts District website, please use the contact form and let us know. Mayor explains the Arts District project
Joe Bain, the upcoming new Mayor of Lakeway, gave an insightful explanation of the future Arts District on his helpful blog recently. Here is an excerpt from the entire article: There is approximately 130 acres of property between the “Oaks” and Lohmans Crossing Road. Lakeway MUD owns 82 acres of this property and is currently in the process of changing their permit to allow that property to be released from their spray areas for affluent and if successful the property could possibly be offered for sale. You are Invited to the Arts District Open House!
The City of Lakeway is inviting the public to learn more about its proposed arts district concept at an open house from 6-8 p.m. April 30 at Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek. Several city staff members will visit with community members, answer questions and gather input about the vision of an arts district in Lakeway. To create a first-class showcase for visual and performing artists in Lakeway and a gathering place for the community, the city drafted a concept that could include a performing arts center, art galleries, museums, live music venues, sculpture gardens, and walking trails.
